Rock band films video at Travis Published July 11, 2014 By Staff Sgt. Christopher Carranza 60th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The pop rock band Breakaway Patriot filmed a portion of their new upcoming video Wednesday on Travis. "They're a really talented and young band," said John Dunbar, Mayor of Yountville and 60th Maintenance Group honorary commander. "The band's song 'Flying on the Water' was selected as the official theme song for the 2013 America's Cup." America's Cup is an international yachting competition that was held last year in San Francisco. Dunbar, in conjunction with The Pathway Home, which is a treatment center for war-related stress, created the opportunity for the band's latest video. "My wife and I were at BottleRock (music concert) in Napa when I first heard them," Dunbar said. "What really made them standout was the message and awareness of (post-traumatic stress disorder) they created in their music. Helping spread awareness and sharing the message of healing is something I strongly support." The lead vocalist Bradly Tyner, prior Air Force security forces member and Napa-native, said that their focus is on selfless lyrical content. "The songs we create are songs of healing," Tyner said. "Songs that help heal the intangibles, such as the soul, which cannot be healed by modern medicine or procedures." During his time in service Tyner was stationed with the 9th Security Forces Squadron at Beale Air Force Base. He has deployed to Afghanistan and Kuwait. "Since I left the military, God has blessed my musical career," Tyner said. "I know it's what I should be doing." Although he is out of the service, he said that he is still invested with the same motivation, dependability, loyalty and workmanship as he was in his military career. "The military did not make me who I was, but it has shaped me into who I have become," Tyner said. The video is slated to debut July 17 at the City Winery in Napa.
