Survey reviews dining services Published March 7, 2014 By Staff Sgt. Christopher Carranza 60th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The contractor Customer Feedback Insights Group has begun sending survey invitations to 260,000 randomly selected individuals, via Air Force email, at 65 key installations as of February and ending in April. Approved by the Air Force Survey office, the survey gives senior Air Force leaders an honest opinion of food services being provided. Participation is imperative for accurate results to inform Air Force leaders on food operations at all Air Force food and beverage operations. The survey is designed to help understand the Air Force community needs. "Travis is one of 13 bases in the Air Force that changed their food services model to a Food Transformation Initiative," said Brian S. Floyd, 60th Force Support Squadron deputy director. "Under this model we partnered with the Aramark Food Cooperation in October of 2010 to provide food services in the Sierra Inn Dining Hall and Knuckledusters, as well as the Bowling Center, Delta Breeze Club, golf course and Java City located in lodging." According to Floyd, under FTI, meal card holders can eat at any of these locations and use their meal card to pay for their meal. "We have data that shows the number of meals eaten by meal card holders has increased from an average of one to two-and-a-half meals per day," he said. "FTI definitely seems to be working, but we know we can do better." The overarching concept behind FTI is to increase the food availability, quality, and variety of meals provided to all Travis members. "This Food Services Assessment study will help show how we are doing and go a step further. By providing invaluable information to Travis and all Air Force bases worldwide to find out what is working best and what we need to do to better the food service arena," Floyd said. We would really like to encourage anyone who receives the survey to take the time to fill it out as this feedback will only help us to better meet the needs of all of our customers."
