On December 31, 2013, the Department of Defense ended its sponsorship of the Automated Housing Referral Network. Since Jan. 1, housing offices are no longer managing rental listings or communicating with members and property owners through AHRN.

However, the AHRN website at http://www.ahrn.com/ will continue to operate as a commercial entity. Registered users will be prompted to review and accept an updated user agreement.

"The Air Force remains committed to providing members with affordable, adequate housing and will continue to provide referral and relocation services," said Benjamin Hizon, 60th Civil Engineering Squadron chief of housing management. "As an interim fix, the 60th Communications Squadron, together with Travis housing office personnel, have developed a rental listing that can be accessed by in-bound personnel or those planning to move off base."

The link, located on the Travis Sharepoint at http://1.usa.gov/1jo6u7b, lists available rentals from one-bedroom apartments to four-bedroom houses which have been inspected by housing office personnel.

According to Hizon, members and their families should contact or visit the military housing office to receive assistance in locating suitable housing. Property managers and landlords should also contact the Travis housing office to list available properties.

The AF Housing public website is still available anytime for members and their families to obtain installation specific housing information and housing office contact information on family, unaccompanied and privatized housing.
