Ready, aim, fire ...
The 60th Operations Support Squadron aircrew tactics flight hosted the Tactics Focus Day on the flightline side of Base Operations Wednesday. More than 120 people attended the biannual event which allowed them to view a variety of modified surface to air weaponry commonly used by terrorists in our area of responsibility. “This is a great opportunity for the aircrews to see what we’re up against,” said Capt. Bill Westfahl, chief of aircrew tactics. “They had the chance to see the features and limitations, as well as the ease of use in some cases. It helps the aircrew understand the enemy.” Members in attendance were able to handle the weapons and attempt to track a T-38 Talon flown in from Beale Air Force Base as part of the demonstration. They then had the chance to track the slower KC-10. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Matthew Bates)
