The event titled X-STEM at Travis was the first of its kind on an Air Force installation and featured a ‘TED’ style symposium with four guest speakers from STEM career fields. The event covered a wide array of subject areas such as space exploration, storm chasing, oceanography, the science of social networks, the physics of superheroes and mathematical puzzles. The students also got to see a performance from the Band of the Golden West, have lunch with Airmen mentors and partake in two hours of interactive tours through Travis’ three mobility aircrafts.
