Hanger 837 Ribbon Cutting, 15 January 2010 Travis Air Force Base, California

The Travis community gathers for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of a two-bay C-17 Globemaster III hangar at Travis Air Force Base, California, on 15 January 2010. When an aircraft is inside, the accordion-style doors of the bay shutting behind it are 66-feet high and 192-feet wide. The two C-17 Aircraft will be protected from inclement weather, while the aircrafts are maintained. White floors cover the facility in order to better reflect the light as well as provide an easy backdrop in case any small materials such as screws or bolts are dropped.
