Wing leadership, local civic leaders celebrate Peabody Road opening

Mayor Harry Price, City of Fairfield, Calif., U.S. Air Force Col. John Klein, 60th Air Mobility Wing commander, at Travis Air Force Base, Calif., and other city officials cut the ribbon officially opening the Peabody Road overpass during the reopening ceremony in Fairfield, Calif., Aug. 4, 2016. The road was closed for 14-months and finished ten days ahead of schedule. Peabody Road is a major thoroughfare that connects the cities of Vacaville and Fairfield, more than 20,000 vehicles per day use the road and it is also a major artery into Travis Air Force Base for more than 14,000 employees. The construction of the Peabody Road overpass is part of the new Fairfield-Vacaville train station project along the Capitol Corridor. (U.S. Air Force photo by Louis Briscese)
