Capt. Sarah M. Wyche, 60th Logistic Readiness Squadron base level broadening program officer, removes a plaque from a pedestal dedicated to Lt. Gen. Glen R. Birchard, located outside the 349th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron Sept. 26 at Travis Air Force Base, Calif. Birchard was the Western Transport Air Force commander at Travis AFB from July 1961 to July 1963. Birchard died in June 1967 near Anchorage, Alaska when a plane he was on crashed shortly after takeoff.
