Topping out ceremony

Construction crewmen watch the attachment of the last beam for the KC-46A 3-bay hangar during a topping out ceremony Nov. 16, 2021, at Travis Air Force Base, California. Topping out is a builder’s tradition where the last beam is placed at the peak of the structure being built. The hangar will be utilized for the maintenance of Travis AFB’s future KC-46 tanker jet inventory upon its completion in 2023. (U.S. Air Force photo by Chustine Minoda)
