Travis Air Force Base unvails "Spirit of Solano"
Col. Steve Arquiette, 60th Air Mobility Wing commander and Col. Robert Millmann 349 AMW acting commander, unveil the "Spirit of Solano" on Travis Air Force Base's first C-17 Globemaster III Aug. 8 as part of the arrival ceremony. The "Spirit of Solano" is the first of 13 C-17s that Travis AFB will receive, adding its tactical capabilities to Travis' mission - the strategic airlift of the C-5 and the aerial refueling of the KC-10. A C-17 from March Air Reserve Base, Calif., takes off during the aerial demonstration portion of the “C-17s Are Coming” event here June 2.
