Looking back at the 349th Air Mobility Wing
The 349th Air Mobility Wing held its 80th anniversary celebration, Oct. 14, 2023, at the Aviation Museum, on Travis Air Force Base, Calif. The wing began during World War II as the Army Air Corps’ 349th Troop Carrier Group on Oct. 23, 1943. The wing has undergone a number or changes in airframes throughout its 80 year history.
