The 60th Services Squadron held their annual MatchUp Family Picnic June 15 to get the word out about MatchUp and have some fun at the same time.

Despite the unusually hot weather, the picnic had an outstanding turnout. Many booths were set up for different Services organizations, each sharing their facilities and goodies.

Venders like Saab, the Red Cross, USAA and Nut Tree Park were also there with information and free gifts.

In addition, everything was free including drinks, band, magic show, pony rides, and door prizes. With all of the free entertainment for both children and adults, it was a very enjoyable and successful day for Team Travis.

So why the extravagant event for a simple game? Why does the 60th SVS go to all of this trouble to put on this fun game?

"We want to raise awareness to what the 60th SVS has to offer and find interactive ways to get people involved," said LeAnn Edwards, 60th SVS' marketing department. "Overall, we want to encourage peoples' usage of the many diverse services which range from the Child Development Center, to the Westwind Inn, to the Travis Marina."

MatchUp is quickly becoming the summer game to play as it officially runs from June 1 through August 31. Previously known as ATWIND, this is the third year for MatchUp.

The way to play, and win, is simple.

Just go to www.amcmatchup.com, register, then enter the game piece you've received at a participating AMC Services facility or event. Every time you play a ticket number, you are entered into the Grand Prize Drawings.

Once registered, participants can also play the online MatchUp skill game anytime they want (limited to 25 times a week), each time entering you for the "InstaWin" coupon.

With a slogan like "nothing else can match up," it is no wonder that the prizes are so fantastic.

The unmatchable grand prize drawing is for a brand new 2007 Saab 9-3 Aero. Other grand prize drawings include Carnival Cruse Vacations with $1000 to $3000 cash.

Now, what many people might not know is that this is a competition between all 12 Air Mobility Command active-duty bases.

The winning base receives special recognition and Quality of Life cash awards.

However, for the entry to be eligible towards the base race, participants must enter at least two different ticket numbers. So, don't forget to play at least two tickets.
