On May 1, the 60th Communications Squadron began a migration that changes the way Travis computer users will submit communications-related work orders and requirements.

The change moves the processing of work orders and requirements from the Project, Workflow, Requirements, Resource Manager System to the Cyberspace Infrastructure Planning System/Work Order Management System.

These work orders are enhancements to current capabilities that can be funded and accomplished at the base level, such as the installation of a phone drop to accommodate an office move. Requirements add new capabilities in the form of a new system or result in significant changes to the base network/communications infrastructure.

This change will affect all Travis customers who use the PWRR system to submit communications-related work orders and/or requirements for their organization. In the past, anyone on base with a PWRR account could submit a communications work order or requirement.

As of June 1, all new communications work orders or requirements will be submitted through CIPS/WOMS.

Air Mobility Command headquarters made the decision to use CIPS/WOMS for all Air Force work orders or requirements and will be the Air Force standard.

One aspect of the change is the individual authorized to submit the work orders. In the past, everyone with access to PWRR could do so. Under CIPS/WOMS, only unit Telephone Control Officers and/or alternates are authorized to do so. No validation will be required as TCOs will be both submitter and validator, hence streamlining the process.

TCOs will assume the role of CIPS/WOMS submitter as part of his or her TCO responsibilities and commanders will appoint them in writing. A CIPS/WOMS manager will have the authority to submit communications work orders or requirements on behalf of the unit and ensure availability of funds when required. Once an appointment letter is received by the 60 CS, individuals will be contacted for CIPS/WOMS account creation and provided training instructions.

PWRR work orders that have not closed out as of June 1, will be transferred to CIPS/WOMS by the applicable 60 CS work center. PWRR requirements not closed by June 1 will be transferred to CIPS by the applicable 60 CS project manager.

TCOs are reminded to get the word out to their respective organizations via e-mail, commander's call, etc., that they are the only individuals authorized to submit and monitor work orders or requirements to the 60 CS. Effective June 1, unit questions regarding communications-related work orders or requirements will be referred to the applicable TCO.

This does not affect repairing a faulty communications-related device. That is a separate matter the 60th CS refers to as a "trouble ticket." An example of this would be restoring a dial tone for a phone that has suddenly stopped working. Customers should call the 60 CS Maintenance Operations Center at 424-2566 in these instances.

If any you have any questions, please contact the base CIPS/WOMS Manager at 424-5339 or e-mail 60CS.CIPS@travis.af.mil. Additionally, CIPS/WOMS information can be found on the 60 CS CIPS SharePoint site at https://eim.amc.af.mil/org/60cs/Plans/CIPS/default.aspx.

Computer-related issues need to be referred to the Travis Helpdesk at 424-2666.
