"Travis Credit Union is an invaluable partner with Team Travis whose service to our Airmen greatly enhances our global mobility mission. They offer so many programs tailored to the unique needs of military members, in particular, to our youngest Airmen," said Col. Steve Arquiette, 60th Air Mobility Wing commander. Travis Credit Union's commitments to the community include continuous financial education through special courses and weekly Newcomer's briefings. The Travis Credit Union also supported the "Military Saves" campaign by contributing $25 to any new savings account opened during the campaign and donated money and prizes to the event. "We're committed to providing excellent service to our members to help them achieve their financial goals, and our commitment includes assisting organizations that recognize and support our military members," said Patsy Van Ouwerkerk, President and CEO. Projects including Kids Understanding Deployments Operations, Fisher House, Tops in Blue, Retiree Appreciation Day and bonds for wing quarterly and annual award winners are also supported by Travis Credit Union. Travis Credit Union is also a partner with the American Red Cross in Operation Video Connect which connects deployed members to family members back home. "We've partnered with Travis more than 56 years ago and continue to look for opportunities to demonstrate the credit union's philosophy of people helping people," said Ms. Van Ouwerkerk. "We are honored to serve those who serve our nation and proud of our relationship with the base." Tech. Sgt. Maurena Rotering, Travis Credit Union customer from the 60th Medical Operations Squadron, has a positive relationship and experience when she steps inside. "They are always fast and friendly - everyone from customer service to the tellers, and they are always helpful," said Sergeant Rotering. Several of the staff are prior military and they all share a mission statement: We are dedicated to building lifelong relationships with our members to help them achieve their financial goals. To do this, the staff uses teamwork and according to Mr. Will Peralta, account representative, they share a sense of unity. "It doesn't feel like a work atmosphere, there's a strong family sense," said Mr. Peralta. This teamwork and dedication to Travis' community is why Travis' leadership is pleased with Travis Credit union. "They are regular participants in base activities, often leading the charge, and are clearly committed to improving the quality of life of Travis personnel," said Colonel Arquiette. "Travis Credit Union both exemplifies the ideals and embodies the spirit of this award." For more information, visit Travis Credit Union online at www.traviscu.org.
