FAIRFIELD, Calif. – Travis Air Force Base leadership and local civic leaders celebrated the official reopening of Peabody Road during a ribbon cutting ceremony in Fairfield, Calif., Aug. 4.
The road was closed for 14-months and finished ten days ahead of schedule. Peabody Road is a major thoroughfare that connects the cities of Vacaville and Fairfield, more than 20,000 vehicles per day use the road and it is also a major artery into Travis Air Force Base for more than 14,000 employees. The construction of the Peabody Road overpass is part of the new Fairfield-Vacaville train station project along the Capitol Corridor.
